If you’re unable to run or perform high-intensity cardio workouts, walking is an alternative that can keep you active, benefiting many aspects of the body. Walking

  • Lowers blood pressure

  • Boost energy levels, mood and reduce stress by releasing the endorphin hormone


The heart needs consistent blood flow, as it’s responsible for the blood flowing throughout the body's organs. Blood pressure is the amount of force pushing on the artery walls; too much pressure is called high blood pressure, which occurs when there is too much stress on the heart. As your activity levels persist and your heart rate increases, endorphin chemicals are released, putting the body at ease.


While you may not always feel the effects of a simple action like moving one foot in front of the other for a specific distance, you’ll likely feel the impact if you started a walking routine, then stopped. You can even consider walking faster or a longer distance for a greater challenge.
