It’s Probably Physical Inactivity, Not Your Age

Updated: Dec 27, 2022

You’re not that old, but your body pains are telling you something.

You might be hitting the big 3-0, and feeling pains, but those pains probably have more to do with your physical inactivity than your age. Research suggests that musculoskeletal pain is more prevalent than it was 40 years ago.

Lower back pain could indicate that you’re sitting down too long. It’s become common among manual labor workers and those who work in enclosed offices. Knee injuries are also becoming common. How often do you hear someone say “I can’t do that; Something is going on with my knee”?

About 80,000 to 100,000 ACL injuries occur annually in the United States and about 70% of these injuries are non-contact. Most of these occur within the age group of 15-25.

Research has shown that with training for balance, stability, and better body control, we may be able to alleviate non-contact injuries. Aging might not be causing that pain. You might need to get more active but not just any type of activity - a good trainer-led program can help correct some of the musculoskeletal issues that we are facing daily. Let’s turn the clock back and get back to feeling good all the time.
